Senior Scholarship Opportunities:

I receive lots of scholarship information in the guidance office. I keep this information on the most current scholarships in a 3-ring binder on the shelves above my desk. I also keep file folders on past scholarship information that I have received. Mr. Polich and I are working on putting these on my web page on the GMG Secondary School web site.  Please stop by the guidance office regularly to see if there are any scholarships you might be eligible to apply for.

1.       Beane-Squires Scholarship...$3,000 per year/Renewable for 3 years...Submit Essay and Application to Beane Family… They will select interviewees from applicant pool…A GMG senior will be awarded this scholarship at graduation ceremonies...Application Deadline is April 1, 2010… I have received the 2010 scholarship information and application packets. Stop by the guidance office for information.

2.       Robert and JoAnn Jensen Scholarships...Two at $3,000 per year/Renewable for 3 years (Mr. and Mrs. Jensen prefer that one go to a student who will attend MCC next year...Two GMG seniors will receive these scholarships...Application Deadline: April 2, 2010 [Applications are now available.] NOTE: Deadline has moved back 2 weeks.

5.       Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarships...Up to $1,500 who demonstrate Outstanding Academic Achievement...Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and 28 ACT…Must have taken 2 years of foreign language, 3 years of social studies, science (beyond general science and including one year each of biology, chemistry, and physics), and math (beyond pre-Algebra)...
